Investor Relations
Investor Relations and Communications often incorporates a number of business strategies with a creative flair. ASX Investor represent a few select companies and assist in implementing strategic marketing objectives to achieve tangible outcomes.
Investor Relations is unique and varied depending on each particular company’s requirements and their stage of development. ASX Investor takes the time to understand the client, assess the immediate requirements, and then work with the client to achieve measurable outcomes. Many of the traditional methods are still highly effective and engaging but one huge growth area for Investor Relations is social media.
Even just a few years ago, companies were reluctant to push hard on social media awareness campaigns, with a fear that despite the brand awareness created, would the activity really make a difference in share price and trading volumes? This is now the main area of focus for everyone especially given our changing post COVID19 world.
Much of this activity dovetails into other mediums such as corporate videos, and our newly released radio spots on 94.5FM which not only reach 300,000 listeners on breakfast radio and also symbiotically via social media.
Investor and Stakeholder Engagement
Engaging investors to bring your company story to the forefront of their minds whilst captivating the investor enough to communicate the true value and encourage them to invest is no easy feat.
Face to face meetings between management and investors, is still one of the most highly effective ways to market a company story. Who better to illustrate their company value than the Managing Director himself.
ASX Investor provide a number of avenues to achieve this goal. One of one meetings, desk presentations, fund manager briefings. Meeting with analysts, family offices, media, targeted investors and boutique finance firms are just some of the techniques adopted by ASX Investor.
In our new age COVID19 world, Zoom has also become an integral way to communicate with investors now that international travel is restricted. ASX Investor engages both 121 and Mines and Money online and has retained lists of international investors globally in particular Singapore and Hong Kong.
In addition to this, organising traditional roadshows and events is second nature to ASX Investor. A presentation delivered to the right audience in a well chosen venue can really lift the profile of any ASX listed company.
Often upon engagement, the company’s existing register may need some editing. This generally takes place during a capital raising or other ECM activity. ASX Investor will facilitate the introduction to family offices, retail shareholders and fund managers. We work with companies to assist in choosing the right broker to work with depending on the size and lifeline of the company. ASX Investor has existing relationships with most stockbrokers both here in Australia and internationally in addition to a substantial network of sophisticated and retail investors.
In relation to stakeholder engagement, often mining companies are dealing with farmers and land access agreements in remote areas. These kinds of negotiations in particular need to be managed and handled with the utmost professionalism. Similarly negotiating government grants, tenders and contracts is also something that regularly comes into play especially in the resources space. Keeping the community and all key stakeholders and shareholders informed and appeased is always at the forefront for ASX Investor.
Digital Communications
ASX Investor prides themselves on creating unique digital imagery for clients. Not only do we create new material by utilising various contractors depending on the task, we can also remaster and repurpose existing video materials. Often this requires script writing and overseeing imagery and animation.
Digital marketing really has become one of the most important ways for ASX listed companies to present their story in this ever changing digitised time poor world.
Our advanced use of social media channels is then reinforced with the use of crisp digital imagery conveying the company story. Digital marketing is often the first touch point that ASX Investor will have when communicating a company story on their behalf, hence the style and professional manner with which this is conveyed will form a lasting memory. If managed correctly, you are just one click away from a fantastic first impression.
Social Media Marketing
Social media marketing is one of the largest growth areas for ASX listed companies. Investors are increasingly looking to their phones, where once you would simply post an ASX announcement in Linkedin, we are now using music and animation to convey the messaging in a creatively and captivating way.
Additionally the style of investor has changed, where once we assumed that traditional ASX investors were over 50, social media has challenged this perception and we now find that younger and younger investors are emerging. Hence the approach is constantly evolving.
That said, well used traditional methods such as direct email marketing campaigns should never be forgotten especially in the lead up to a capital raising because this is often where some the larger investors will be found. The investor receives the email, reviews the information, accepts the invitation to the Zoom meeting, and immediately an investor briefing with 100-200 participants has been arranged. This method also enables the company to review recipients that opened the email, and how they engaged the information. In many instances this can be extremely helpful information for the company, and this is just one technique adopted by ASX Investor.
Materials
Upon engagement, ASX Investor will often evaluate all your materials and revise and create new visual templates & graphics. We also write copy, edit ASX Announcements, and work with the clients to refine all of their messaging.
One simple technique is to create a short 28 word paragraph that completely describes the Who, What, Why, When and How of a company. This is a traditional journalist trick and still remains relevant and worthwhile today.
This short paragraph is then used repeatedly on announcements and all materials so any investor opening information will immediately be reminded as to the company story. Uniformity across all company materials is essential to deliver a clear message and distinguish the company’s unique point of difference for investors.
Marketing your company to investors across online platforms, producing and distributing investor focused videos and preparing online targeted investor advertising is just a snapshot of the many techniques adopted by ASX Investor.
